We could always outsource our defense and military to Chine. Why not? We're outsourcing everything else to them

Income taxes were much higher in the 50's and 60's.

Incidentally, the 50's and 60's were when the middle class and American innovators skyrocketed into prosperity.

Maybe limits could be the 'new representation'.....

AN AMENDMENT TO LIMIT FEDERAL TAXING (from The Liberty Amendments)
SECTION 1: Congress shall not collect more than 15 percent of a person's annual income, from whatever source derived. "Person" shall include natural and legal persons.
SECTION 2: The deadline for filing federal income tax returns shall be the day before the date set for elections to federal office.
SECTION 3: Congress shall not collect tax on a decedent's estate.
SECTION 4: Congress shall not institute a value-added tax or national sales tax or any other tax in kind or form.
SECTION 5: This Amendment shall take effect in the fourth fiscal year after its ratification.

(And there's a proposed amendment to limit federal spending. Here's to wishing..... )

ahahhaha.

No. Seriously, your whole idea here is to let the rich get richer, turning our government into a plutocracy. The middle class would abandon the country, leaving the wealthy and those too poor to escape.

Oh and incidentally theres another GLARING hole. The federal govt would then tell states "hey we're not taxing you, but heres your BILL for services". So really what you would accomplish is a more even benefit, and the federal govt would have 15% on to to do with separately. Yeah...

If you want taxation this low, I hear parts of somalia have that.

Funny you should mention this.

A Different Kind of Balanced Budget Proposal

Just so you know, most of us, well, our only source of income is our labor, which we exchange for what it can provide for us in income. Slaves worked for room, board, clothing and nothing else. ALL of their income went to their massas.

At what point do we become slaves? You tell me? What is the total tax collected by all levels of government as a percentage of your income, the fruit of your labor? Think about it. Research it.

Sorry, but from your talk I think you would not be uncomfortable at all with making all of us slaves to your ideology.

Although I do think it would be REALLY freaking awesome if we could specify what we wanted our money spent on. NASA's budget would be immense! OK I love DARPA too.

Special Interest groups it seems.

Yes, and I'm sure you were saying the same thing on September 10, 2001.

2. Welfare queens? I'm sorry thats so 20 years ago, you do know there is a limit to how long someone can collect welfare these days right? by law? Or did you miss that whole welfare reform thing.
Yes there is a limit on how long someone can collect TANF... It's 5 years I believe. But there is no limit on Food Stamps, Section 8, Medicaid.
