Boy. You would hate my job. I meet people like this all day long.
And the worst part isn't that. It's not the gloating, either. It's the fact that people insist that I am lying about these people existing and what they will do to scam the system.
Yeah I saw exactly how much people don't want to game the system when the EBT system went down and Walmart's shelves were emptied in less than 2 hours.
I always love hearing about these stories of people on food stamps and welfare living high on the hog.
All these people love to complain about how these "welfare queens" live better than they do. I have never seen anyone actually give up their job and go on welfare after saying that though. Like they know what they are saying isn't actually true, but that doesn't change their beliefs. Like people who complain germs don't cause disease, but don't drink a vial of salmonella when offered.
Sure, they don't exist. Watching Judge Judy the other night, they had someone there on section 8, paying 1$ for their portion of the rent, getting SNAP, complaining the landlord let the "GAS" people in the home, and they stole her xbox 360 and her 60" tv.
Now here's the question.... If she's on Section 8 getting snap, how does she afford a larger tv than most people have?

That is the truth I work and do not have the money to shell out for a 60" TV, they should means test welfare recipients.

Why do you want to do this? Who said they were living "high on the hog"? I'll answer, no one. Now do you have an opinion on what is actually reported here?
The problem isn't that these people exist. It's what solution do you have for getting them out of the system w/o impacting someone that actually needs it.
That's one of the big differences between Liberals and Conservatives on the safety net. Conservatives are willing to kick off as many actual needy people as it takes to make them feel like the system isn't being abused.
Outside of severely criminalizing welfare fraud (I'm pretty sure it's already a felony), what else are you going to do force out the leeches?

Did she have kids. I have written about this before, but my ex baby sitter have 4 kids. All of them under 12. One 2 year old. Her husband is the only one working, making $10 an hour or less. He can't hold a job for more than 2 years at the time. They receive section 8 and food stamps. They recive thousands of dollars every year at tax time. For the last 3 years they have been treating themselves to more fancy electronics and furniture than I could ever afford.
