If you were in a war, would you learn how to use an AK47 or nah, I'm ok with this M1 carbine.
You wouldn't. I would. I like being prepared. Being prepared is my agenda.
People just can't see the writing on the wall.
Being prepared for what? Most Hispanic-Americans know English so why would we need to learn Spanish to communicate with them?
That would be "declared white". I declare myself as white and not Hispanic and have a Mexican grandmother, my neighbors dad is Mexican with a white mom and she identifies as white. I have cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles that are varies mixes and the same applies in most cases. Some identify as mixed but are pretty normal Americans. Classification by race or ethic group in this country serves more as a divide than anything else. The racial identification nonsense, created and perpetuated by the US Government does not serve anyone well.
Uh; "Hispanic" ain't a race anyway. Tho most of them here in the US are "Indians"; either full or a huge part of that heritage is that and see themselves as "Hispanic" or "Chicano".

Of course I know that, but it is treated as such on many governmant documents as if it is a race.
It is a nation of color, and increasingly so. The country is moving AWAY from the Republican agenda. I consider this tremendous progress.
From a practicing standpoint it seems like many Republicans are fine with having 'people of color' in their family as seen by Mccain and Boehner with black son and daughter inlaws, and the Bushes with a large Mexican presence. It's Democratic Blue Bloods such as the Kennedys that you will never see any race mixing with. It must only be right for others in their minds
The Republicans have no agenda to stop people of color from coming here. They just desire immigrants to come here legally as we all should. Who cares about skin color anyway? I certainly don't but I'd like our country to retain its identifiying culture and language just as the citizens of other countries would desire the same thing and not lose it via illegal immigration.

There are some great "Hispanic" Republicans of color: Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Luis Fortuno. There are dozens of Hispanic Republican politicians in Puerto Rico, southern Florida, New Mexico, Texas, etc. The vast majority of pro-statehood Puerto Ricans are national Republicans and the statehood movement (ie: the New Progressive Party) has always associated with the Republican Party.
BTW: "Hispanics" come in all shades ranging from as White as a Scandinavian to practically Black.
Last but not least, langauge has nothing to do with appreciation of and dedication to American values. I don't care what language someone speaks as long as they respect the principles of the United States Constitution and the laws set forth by the United States Congress.
