Are you saying it is going in the wrong direction, where is your proof.
Did we lose jobs last month ? do we have negative job growth through his administration ?Did GDP shrink ? are we in a Recession ?
U6 unemployment was up by .2 percent in October. So yes we lost jobs. U6 is still at 13.8 pct, down only slightly from the peak of 17.1 in Nov 2009. And it is still at least 5 points higher than typical for the US economy over the past 30 years. In other words more than 50 percent higher than it should be under a healthy US economy. It is at a level that is closer to the norm for EU countries. http://portalseven.com/employment/un...nt_rate_u6.jsp
It is going in the right direction, from Obama's perspective: straight down for the average citizen and straight up for the privileged 1 millionth of 1 percent.
We all want more growth, and though I've never voted for Obama, still I am aware while we abhor a roughly US 2% GDP growth rate, the EU would consider that heaven these days, as they are under 1%. We are doing very well relative to other fully developed, mature, first world nations.

We could (should) be doing better - is all I have to say (ie, see post #11).
If you don't mind, I'd rather not be comparing to a caboose.

The entire remainder of the first world is the caboose right now. I'm delighted. I thought after the Great Recession, we'd still be looking at negative GDP right now.
The economy has been going in the right direction for years.
Well done, Mr. President.
And that's "no kidding".
We are not talking about entitlement programs here we are talking about the economy. Increasing your food stamps is not improving the economy there hoss.
If I know this administration, I have a feeling the unemployment numbers will take a sharp nosedive right before the election.
Well, it really might nosedive. Remember, Summer of Recovery Part VI will be realized by Nov '14.
