The main reason for the change to a Labor Government was;

The introduction of the Controversial and Unpopular AWA's (Australian Workplace Agreements), In which an Employee basically had to draw-up a contract with their employer, As too what Terms and Conditions they would work under?

As The labor Party is Traditionally A "Left Wing" concern, Who support the Australian Union Movement...People voted for them, As they made a promise to abolish the Unpopular AWA's (Which they did carry out!), As they were considered to affect workers rights and were seen as being against the long Upheld Australian ideal, Of a "Fair Go!" for everyone.

Plus, The Liberal Party, Had been incumbent for 16+ years and people were sick of voting for them!
