I generally get the flu shot when I can afford it. I have never gotten the flu after having the flu shot, have gotten tagged when I didnt. And...it sucks big time. Is there a risk with the shot? probably. Id guess that maybe 12 people a year die from it without knowing (and im guessing here-no hard numbers), and thousands are saved.

Its all an odds game, and I like my odds with the flu shot.

She's the "runt" of the litter, so to speak, so that may have something to do with it.

When I was in the military, I was forced to get a flu shot every year. Never got the flu. When I got out, I abstained. I was OK until last year, and when I got it, I got it BAD. I had a fever of 106. Was barely lucid. Had not felt that bad since being infected with Salmonella.

Apart from those two incidents, I never get sick.
However, due to last year's flu, I'm on the fence about whether I should get a shot this year. Doesn't seem as bad this year, though, as no one is sick at the office. Last year, EVERYONE at the office came down with the flu. I'm thinking that's how I got it.

I think I've already gone through a 5-gallon bucket of hand sanitizer since last month.

get off the fence and get a shot

Anti-vax nonsense is already causing localized and entirely preventable epidemics of pertussis (whooping cough) and measles, and the same nonsense could -- if it becomes prevalent enough -- cause flu epidemics to spread farther than they otherwise would have.
Which is completely different than the flu.

Second that! Don't be such a wuss! It is so easy to get one this year too. Every pharmacy in the country has them. No more waiting in line with the geezers at WalMart.

The flu shot is not a live virus vaccination. Who told you that? If it was your doctor, I'd be shopping around for a new doctor.

The CDC is GSK's biggest customer.
Might as well ride the coattails and buy some shares.
