Default Do guns in America make it difficult for a foreign army to invade the US?

No.

It's geography, unless you're expecting Canada and/or Mexico to mount an attack.

Did Yamamoto actually say it? Who knows, but it's plausibility rested on the fact that he spent several years in the US, at Yale for grad school if I remember correctly.
Predating the internet doesnt make it true.

I didn't say it did. Reading comprehension is key.

Wouldn't be much fun to "occupy" a radioactive wasteland.

Yeah, great pic. Be even cooler if it was TRUE>
So how did that quote come to be?

yeah, its a bunch of nut jobs with guns that prevents invasion

why?

why bother invading, when we will kill ourselves.

Seriously though -

uh, Nukes

nukes are a deterrent.

you have nukes, aircraft carriers, etc.

you don't need guns.

Kind of. Big Cities will run out of food fast and turn on each other. Anyone with survival skills will get out and head for an area they can live off the land. That will be who is last standing and who would become the force fighting with what is left of our military. Same as it's been for all wars in any Country.

Interesting, head out for an area they can live off the land. Just where might that be? Some place Jeb and Jethro are waiting for ya, just to help out?

Maybe the national forests where the Columbians have set up areas the police and federal law enforcement are afraid to go? (look up the direct quotes yourself from Attorneys General).

Those places no longer exist. None of them would join any military that remains either. Those Red Dawn movies are believed by way too many people.

Uh; the cops have to play "clean". A bunch of desperate armed Americans WON'T play clean with drug gangs and WILL probably shoot 1st. I know some American will die but I lay odds of 100 percent that'll be the end for the cartel gangs in our forests.
