Things started falling apart in '08 and haven't been the same since. Spent a year unemployed, burned thru savings. Sold some things , basically changed the way I lived. No new cars , no boat, eliminated some of the toys. Most of it for the better but regardless, I'm making less now than I was in '98-99. Now add the fact that fuel and gas has more than doubled, food has gone up , insurance has gone up etc... bottom line is less money in my pocket.
When are the sheeple going to get it ? I'm wondering if it's due to some of them being so young they really don't remember how good things really were ? They are just happy to have a job , live at home and make payments on their student loans ?
Blumenauer, a Democrat of course will announce legislation to nearly double the federal gas tax on Wednesday. Well just as I said, Democrats think the everyone who puts gas in their car is rich. For the people who are lucky enough to have a job in the Obama economy will this help you? Politicians love to put their hands in our pockets.

Dec 3, 2013 Blumenauer (D-Ore.) reintroduced legislation that would require the government to study the most practical ways of taxing drivers based on how far they drive.

Yes, Democrats are calling for higher taxes and more spending. That’s a stereotype that is as predictable as kids not liking vegetables. In fact, it’s even more predictable than that. We knew a kid who liked peas once.

There is no across the board fixed tax where everyone pays the same percentage regardless of income.
And I never said everyone pays the same percentage of taxes. For me I figure the most I pay in taxes and take that amount out and the percentage always falls under that.

An example of a bit more: food stamps were meant for essentials, which would be food. Now it's used for bottles of alcohol, cases beer, cartons of cigarettes, and fast food. Why should people on EBT be denied alcohol, cigarettes and eating out, right?
Also you are misinformed, SNAP cannot be used for non-food items such as cigarettes and alcohol.

You do realize he is introducing a STUDY on practical ways to tax drivers by mileage, this is something that is being experimented in Oregon because there is less money for highway funding now that cars go further on a tank of gas. I doubt this will go any further than a study because the only real practical way would be to report the mileage of a car per year and pay a tax for the amount of mileage that had been driven that year.

Exactly.

Liberal diseased minds just don't get it.
I was hired as a kid in 66 station. The boss/guy that hired me was supposedly the manager that worked 94 hrs a week and he didn't have squat to his name and he was just a slave to Phillips 66.

So why aren't poor people out there creating jobs? Tell the to get a move on it, the kids are being forced to stay on mommy and daddys insurance policy because they can't find jobs.

Why are we patting business owners on the back who ship jobs overseas?
