Bear witness to the truth. The same Congress that has held up confirmation of federal judicial appointments, and cut government funding through "sequestration" - not to mention shutting down the government - is now blaming the President for not enforcing the law. It is the Congress that is to blame. It is the Congress that has failed to act. Now see the results. It is most acute in the southern border states that handle a large volume of drug and alien smuggling cases. What we are seeing now is a triage in which a rather large number of cases will not be prosecuted solely due to budgetary constraints. And, who holds the purse strings?
You are seeing the checks and balances that the US Constitution provides, to prevent a civil war.
When those fundamentals that are in place, that make us a republic and not a mob rule democracy, are by-passed by a dictatorial move, it moves us closer to a civil war.
I don't agree with what he is doing. But it's all "legal".
Congress has not slapped his hand and said "No, you can't do that"
The Supreme court even helped with the Obamacare penalty-tax-penalty-tax so it could be upheld.

But they don't see it that way. They see anything that obstructs their agenda as wrongdoing, and anything that advances it as good - whether lawful or not.

I think there's a growing group in the US that would have no problem with a dictatorship..as long as the guy running the show is from their party.
The US constitution, the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” The president swore and oath to uphold our laws and he is using his powers as president, thru his administrative agencies to refuse to enforce or defend those laws which conflict with his political policy and/or agenda.

I think over the years, when it looked like our president was getting close to crossing the line, many Americans were willing to look the other way, because they put their trust and faith our presidents, to do the right thing and not abuse their power and authority. But this president has been so openly partisan, and political, that it's just not passing the smell test, and holding their noses does not even work any more.

Nothing states the President or the Justice Department must defend legal challenges to the law. He is not the only President that has decided not to defend legal challenges.

Impeach of course.
