Didn't you just love how leading up to the 2008 election the narrative was how the republicans were the ones in bed with wall street and Obama and his crew were going to put a stop to that?
The republicrats sure know how to keep the sheep stupid and fleeced.
that's all well and good, but you're only measuring a subset of all political money
mainly, you're ignoring what is referred to as "Outside Spending"
The list is what it is.
Hey - money is not evil in itself, but it does reveal some things.
You guys are happy when your team wins elections - this is a big reason why. Thank Soros... thank the unions... and move on.
Or does your conscience ping you - saying that you know the big influence of money in politics is not totally right?
Pick one of the blue above. But don't act offended at the right's money while enjoying the benefits of the left's money. The same goes for those on the right who are only offended because their team gets way less money.
But those evil Koch brothers . . . that gave soooo much money to . . to . . the arts? Darn those right-wing artists!!! But, the larger point is that big money influences all of our politics (free market politics?) and we obviously (if you ever doubted it before) live in a plutocracy that allows us to believe we have free choice through elections.
The fact that this kind of bribery can happen out in the open is proof in itself that the US is an oligarchy and that its citizens are nothing more than serfs and peasants.
