I am very skeptical of that. The earth has had lots of climate change over it's history, and mankind to me seems incapable of upsetting the entire global climate. The earth is vast, and we are small.

What I think is going on here is that people who measure temperatures start believing that some outside force "causes" the phenomena they are merely measuring. It's sort of like watching people keep track of the numbers that a roulette wheel produces, then try and predict the next spin of the wheel.

One thing is for certain, though. If the average global temperature doesn't start rising again very soon, they will have to find a new way to earn a living. Sooner or later reality always crashes the party on the doomsday predictions.
That's an excellent question and I'm betting the answer is "no".

Humanity's timeline goes something like this: Man wonders what controls the planet--> Man invents god --> Man decides that god controls the planet --> Man realizes that god controlling the planet is silly --> Man decides he's god --> Man decides that he controls the planet.

Climate science is plain and simple?

In 2013 there will be higher concentrations of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, than any other year in the last 400,000 years. The following links are from NASA.

Climate Change: Key Indicators

The following link shows temperature records from 1880 to 2010. There are blinking circles on the chart where temperature changes happened. If you put your mouse pointer on a circle it will tell you the event responsible for those temperature changes.

The (entire) scientific community that studies climate science believes "man made global warming is happening." The link bellow explains how the "climate oriented scientific community" has -0- respected scientists in it that deny global warming. If a scientist stands in front of climate scientists and says "man made global warming is not happening" he/she will be laughed at, and he/she will no longer be respected by the other scientists.

The following link explains how scientists are often like a gang (and the whole climate science gang believes man made global warming is happening.)

Is there a scientific consensus on global warming?

You linked to page that states 97%, 97% of what? What I'm asking you is using the references on that page how many scientists make up this 97%. For example they are going to cite the Doran study on that page, how many scientists are the 97% in the Doran study?

Never mind, I found it and it is tree ring data not temperature records....It says nothing about current temperatures....Nice try though.
