The left don't want equality of opportunity, they want equality of outcome. Which, of course, is impossible. But the only way to attempt to make it happen is for government to initiate physical force against it's own citizens in one form or another. But then the left believes that the end justifies the means, and so anything goes....

Got news for you, the boogeymen of your finance industry don't exist and get so rich in a capitalist economy. We have a mixed economy: a mixture between freedom and controls. But as usual, the left blames the failures of government intervention on capitalism. A clever little bit of bulls@#$ that. But bulls@#$ nonetheless....

No matter how many times you say that, it won't suddenly become true.

For the vast majority of the left they want:
A base level of income. We'd like there to be no homeless people freezing to death outside. And yes we do have homeless people freezing to death outside.

Equality of opportunity-something that is even further from reality now then it was 40 years ago.

The left generally does not believe the end justifies the means. Many of us believe we have to make moral choices, some of which no one can find perfect answers for. You know, the real world.

Im not sure what you've been listening to, but you are vastly mistaken about the people with whom you disagree. Demonizing people you disagree with is a poor choice. But hey I've been called worse then Adolf Hitler, and Charles Manson....so Im getting used to it here

EQUALITY (of outcome) and LIBERTY are mutually exclusive. You can't have one without upsetting the other.

(Our coins don't say "Equality" - they say LIBERTY )

How we deal with this situation as a society is the million or trillion dollar question?
We quit regulating ourselves out of business - that's how.

(I imagine you want A FEW examples - check out North *freezing* Dakota, or Keystone, or ANWAR, or Rim Fire tree salvage (being held up by enviro's), CA anti-trucking regs, and wind and solar that we're paying through the NOSE for, with no ROI BTW, and will PAY MORE to upgrade the grid to handle intermittent wish-list power - the list is LOOOOOOOOOOONG, if you were wondering where US jobs have gone *POOF*.)

Why do you insist on posting and re-posting and re-re-posting this same black and white, myopic, oversimplified, overgeneralized, binary BS that all people who are well off are well off because they work hard and all people who don't earn enough or have enough are in that situation because they are lazy, refuse to work and expect handouts?

Are you really that obtuse and infantile in your thinking, or do you even bother to process a thought before you post this same old tired and baseless nonsense over and over and over?

Seriously. Just curious.

It's not "Liberty" when there are people so poor that their children to go school hungry. The wealth inequality in this country is extreme and inexcusable.

The air is so bad in China's financial capitol tha visibility is 18 feet. Enviro's... yah... let's rip, why not. Chains off everybody. Let's just go for broke and let the economy rock. We'll be killed off in 50 years instead of a hundred. Woo hoo! I'd be for it too if I was going to get a check in the mail like people in Alaska do. But the greedy sods are going to poison us to death and bank the savings offshore. Why should I go along with that? Why should you?

Except that poor people don't have LIBERTY when it comes to property rights.

no its just one symptom

monopolistic telecoms, big banks, regulation stopping the little guy from starting a new business and competing.

When we protect the big companies, we are protecting them at the expense of the little ones
