Not even close. Insurance companies have a financial incentive to catch fraud. The government has no incentive and in fact government workers go out of their way to help people game the system.

Proof? - labor unions love to support political candidates, usually those on the progressive or left side.

Why would one need union backing to work for the government? If you get fired you get fired. It happens at a hundred places of employment each day.
Here in the DC area the federal government is the single largest employer and lots are represented by a union. I happen to know a union rep for these people and his mindset is a wasteland. In his brainwashed world, everyone should work for the government and earn $25-$50 hr with no fears of ever losing said job. Health insurance and retirement benefits are a given and raises are expected. Supervisors cannot discipline employees without a union rep of sorts present and that needs to be documented from the beginning of time to the present.
This guy doesn't stand for the college educated with specialized disciplines and probably wouldn't understand if he had to. Nope, he is there for the unskilled who would be home watching Dr Oz and eating cheeetos. He represents people who receive, not earn, $50K for showing up. I have been to the CBO on official business and it blew my mind when I saw work practices there.
Does anyone know how hard it is to fire a federal employee? Especially if an employee is considered a minority? It doesn't matter if you caught said employee falling down drunk on the job. That employee is offered some substance abuse counseling first and keeps the job. A lot of times they get transfered or promoted to another position/facility.

Can someone explain it all to me?

Federal employees are almost 'hands off' at that point. How much are they willing to spend to catch fraud? More than what the actual fraud is?
The point of catching fraud is at the onset. If one can be declared disabled by a doctor from a couple of office visits it shouldn't be hard to check that out. Too many go out on 'mental disability'. How does one function in life, let alone run around on permanent vacation, when mentally disabled/handicapped?

Yes. Then take the child from the mother. If you can't afford to have children, then you shouldn't have them. It's immoral to bring children into the world when you cannot afford to support them.

8.4 million +/- public sector employees are represented by unions:

31% federal level
35% state level
46% local municipal level

About 2/3 of government fire departments and public educators are union members.

26 states have collective bargaining agreements for essentially all state and local workers.
An incremental 12 states have such agreements for some of their workers.
7 states outlaw collective bargaining agreements. Employees are free to join a union.

Generally speaking those state and local government workers who are members of unions earn more and have better benefits than those who are not members of unions, regardless of collective bargaining.

At the end of the day, the people have to pay for it.

Do you expect children to work?
Good luck on overturning 75 year old child labor laws.

Just think, an adult could compete with a 8 year old for a job.

Those posting...and those producing them, as well as the pundits who refer to them over and over again.

Never said I did. I expect their PARENTS to work. Having a child to get out of working is wrong. We should not be paying people to breed. That is a very very poor plan.

Some who post here have a tendency to think in absolutes. It's all or nothing, always and never.

Exactly. The parents have a responsibility to work to financially provide for their kids. If they refuse to provide for them, then charge them with neglect and remove the children from them. If they care so little for their children that they won't take a job even to keep them, then the kids would be better off without those parents.

These lazy parents using children to collect big welfare handouts for themselves are the reason child poverty rates are soaring.
