For those asking where the $15/hr comes from: see tblmtn's post.

$10 a hour would put workers' pay into the 1970's 'real' money range. Since it is no longer 1975, a $15 an hour wage would bring pay in line with current costs.

As for those fearing a $30 hamburger...studies indicate that McDonald's (for instance) would likely raise the price by about .30 cents. But as people would no longer be on assistance in addition to working (as many are), you would save that .30 cents and much more because the cost of those programs would drop. Win-win, y'all.

It's not even worth discussing. It's never gonna happen, and passing such a law would doom the Republican party to extinction.

Yeah, forget about what is right and do what is politically expedient.

IOW it is too much analysis for you, as for every other lefty.

I'll ask it again. If a minimum wage is a good idea, why not a minimum donation level? As with the minimum wage, the true minimum would be zero (you can opt not to donate at all), but if you do donate, why not mandate a minimum level as a way to boost fundraising?

If it is a good idea with wage rates, why is it not a good idea with donation rates? Both are numbers that we all would like to see boosted, right?

Oh, so without a minimum wage McDonald's would hire more workers to get my hamburger out faster to me? If so, the price of my hamburger would probably not go down.

That is proven in many liberal posters comments too. They scream hey "MY healthcare is fine" yet they don't care about anybody else...........like true liberals.
Don't people, who want the minimum wage abolished also government welfare abolished, too? If so, would people making only a few dollars an hour simply go beg for help at a private charity, or go to their friends and relatives?

I give plenty to charity. You liberals are making me thing twice though. Hey let the government handle it right? You want to tax us and steal our money to dole out how you see fit. Min wage jobs are not career jobs. They are not something you teach your children to reach for unless I guess your a liberal.

Because if it were mandatory, at a certain level, it wouldn't be a donation!

It wouldn't be mandatory. You could choose not to donate. But if you did choose to donate, there would be a minimum donation level, just like with the minimum wage level. Would this not boost charity, just as the minimum wage boosts wages?
