When they first unveiled the chunk of rock it had two misspelled words on it! Just goes to show the caliber of folks we are dealing with. They are real mental powerhouses if you know what I mean.

They probably thought government can't do anything right, except when it comes to promoting religion, but they were proven wrong.

Ah, I see. So you want the government to decide which religion is "acceptable" and which is not. Are you sure you want to live in America? It sounds like you'd be happier in a theocracy, where the government decides which religion is acceptable and which religion is not.
Incorrect.
The government can prosecute criminal activity that deliberately injures another, regardless of one's religious beliefs.
If a religion, Satanic or otherwise, espouses doing deliberate harm to person or property, the government will prosecute its members.
I believe the Mormons had to deal with such, when they were forced to abandon plural marriage.
(Such marriages impaired the blood line of inheritance, under the rules of the common law.)
I don't believe this group was responsible for any criminal activity, do you have proof of that or just guessing. I would be more concerned with Christian groups like the Army of God that attack clinics.
All false religions have borrowed from Christianity. There is a good reason for this, which I shall not venture into here (and most unbelievers would deny it anyway).
Purgatory exists only in the Catholic religion, and it is based on their tradition (what the Church says) not on any bible teaching. There is no, zero, nada, reference to anything remotely resembling the idea of "purgatory" in scripture, neither the old testament, nor, certainly, the new.
We either die "in Christ;" i.e., we are saved, or we are lost. Period. That is the clear teaching and the message of Christ.
The central message of Christ, and the reason He came, was to announce the "good news" of salvation through faith. Period. Not by works, so that no one can boast.
You'll be hard pressed to convince anyone that Buddhism, Vedic Hinduism and Zoroastrianism borrowed anything from Christianity. Given that Buddhism is 500 or so years OLDER than Christianity and the others around 1200 to 1500 years older.
It doesn't matter, does it? "All scripture is God breathed". That means, men wrote as the Holy Spirt led them. Luke, an eye witness of Christ and his teaching, recorded the events where Christ spoke those words.
What you are saying is simply this: You don't believe. You don't believe the bible, you don't believe Christ, and you probably don't believe God exists either.
Actually the Timothy quote you allude to refers entirely to the OT as the NT was not even codified until 300+ years AFTER the verse quoted.
Are you denying that Christians, over a period 1,700 years did not oppress, persecute, annilhilate and massacre millions of Jews in Europe and elsewhere? That pogroms and crusades never took place? How about Christians who invaded the Levant and killed not only Muslims and Jews but thousands of other Christians in the Eastern Holy Roman Empire and in Constantinople?
Who was it that put to death millions of Jews in furaces and gas chambers? Was it not Hitler? You're not going to try to tell me he was Christian, are you?
Do you not understand that the Crusades were the response to the Muslim hordes, that were slaughtering Christians, threatening to wipe out Christianity (as is still their desire today)? The Crusades were to drive the Muslims back. Period.
It was the Muslim hordes that conquered Turkey and renamed Constantinople (which had been Christian), "Istanbul."
