Whether its the war on Christmas or just issues on economy, from a broad base of posters here, what is your opinion? I have conservative, libertarian and liberal friends, please post which news programs/channels you like (or dislike and avoid) during holidays...This could be a fun discourse
btw Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to everyone here
Good news doesn't attract viewers, and since networks are businesses that rely on advertising to survive, they're going to report on whatever gets the most viewers.
There have been "good news" types of shows that gave it a go, but nobody watches. If you think there's a market for it, draw up your business plan and go for it. It's a totally untapped market that you will completely own.
I don't watch much tv (can't remember the last time I watched any tv (other than a brief weather channel visit)) so don't can't get my news from Fox or MSNBC or whatever (indeed, I have no clue which "number" those particular two would be on! I'm sure I must have surfed through their broadcasts but have never hung around for much, if anything). I try to get my news from online sources like CNN, Yahoo (which ACTUALLY isn't "Yahoo" but Reuters, AP, WSJ, CNN, Gizmodo, etc etc etc all in the same place), news streams from brokers, etc.
And if someone posts something about something and includes a link to somewhere, I often follow the link and read whatever that site - any political leaning or none at all (like the "Take the 5th ALWAYS!" Youtube link)- and read/watch whatever they're saying.
The sky has been falling and eminent doom has been around the corner going on 5 years now.
I think it's time for people to start seeing the positive and believing in themselves.
