It is a sad state of affairs when Americans live in fear of their lives in an armed camp, in gated communities with bars on their windows. It does not speak well for the "land of the free and the home of the brave".
The sentiment in the OP is what has turned this nation towards the stupid - and cowardly. Let the criminals have their way.
The police are there after the fact and just write reports of the 911 caller's demise and bring in the coroner.

At some point the anti-gun crowd is going to have to pick a side. Those of us who choose to exercise our 2nd amendment rights and protect ourselves are either "cowards hiding in our homes and gated communities" or we're "gun nut vigilantes roaming the streets looking for someone to shoot".
I am the biggest gun owner on this forum. I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on guns and their uses. And, I am not ignorant - I'm a lawyer, TheMoreYouKnow.
