Correlation is not causation. Anyone who spends there time obsessing over guns, is probably already stupid and paranoid. These folks about worry about gays ruining their marriages, uppity minorities having a say, etc.

Shouldn't the focus be on the segment of society that is making up the bulk of the violent crime stats. Do you think that the family guy that is legally carrying a firearm in a concealed holster is the one that is mainly contributing to the violent crime statistics?
Why isn't the discussion focused on the thug that is has his piece tucked in his pants that are falling off his rear end?

The guy in the OPs story was hardly 'obsessing over guns.' As far as we know he just had the one gun, and a prior case of someone banging on his door after midnight. If you have people banging on your door after midnight, it would seem not unreasonable to arm yourself, just in case.

This is classic projection. Anyone who spends their time obsessing over gun owners, and building imaginary portrayals of gun owners' characteristics, is probably projecting onto gun owners that which they themselves embody and epitomize.

On the contrary, it's the people obsessing over others having guns who are "stupid and paranoid".

Look at all the facts that I have posted on this thread. Only a "stupid and paranoid" person could read those and still determine that the lawful gun owners are the problem.

I love how some gun-grabber who is afraid to debate this just added to my rep with "bull***". Yet another gun-grabber who wants to run and hide.

Yes the are some people that want to ban guns, the chances of that ever happening are beyond remote.

I remember a slogan from a crime prevention seminar "Never turn a crime of property into a crime of violence."

So please if you are cowering in your house-do this. Stay inside, hide, call the Police.
I work for a public utility. I remember the days when we would knock once on the back door and then go right down the stairs to check the gas meter or service. Lot's of times the people would offer you a coffee and donut and sit and visit for 5 mins. Nowadays? We never go in a house unless there is someone there or with police/fire escort. That is how paranoid people have become.

Agreed, all those people, mainly liberal democrats, obsessing over trying to remove guns from law abiding citizens are stupid and paranoid. There are hundreds of things more likely to kill people than guns and yet the can't think of anything except more useless gun laws.
