Santa shouldn't be white anymore?
This is absurd.
Isn't Santa a figure that kids look up too? Put on a red suit, white beard/hair, glasses and they are equally happy, whether the Santa is black or white.

Why does the race card have to be drawn with everything?

Santa Claus Is White » Liberty Alliance

[LEFT]Megyn Kelly is right: Santa Claus is white. Why are Liberals in an uproar over Kelly’s comments, when they have Barack Obama?

As a young black kid growing up, I never really thought about the ethnicity of Santa Claus, I was just glad he was there every year. As a poor kid, anything that would get me a few gifts was a welcome surprise.

I did notice that Santa was always slightly different picture to picture, person to person. He always had the iconic red and white suit with the black belt, his face sported the big white beard, and he was cherubi

But if you want a black Santa or any other color I am ok with that. Just don't get your self esteem hurt when you see a white Santa or any other color Santa.
The fat man in a red suit and a white beard was created for commercialism, it really doesn't matter what his skin color as long as it sells.

This thread has far too many pages. Who cares what color Santa's skin is. Do you know what color his skin is for real? Trick question; he doesn't exist.

If people want their Santa to be black, who cares? Your Santa can still be white, can't it? Maybe I'm missing something, but someone wanting to change the appearance of Santa in their community, which is realistically all anyone could ever do, it leaves your communities depiction of Santa alone. This isn't an issue at all. Santa is fictional. If you want jolly, fat white Santa with a beard, you can have him. If someone else wants black Santa or penguin Santa, they can do that to. It's a fictional character; he can be whatever you want him to be.

Also, you do realize that Santa Claus is a mythical (read: made-up) figure based on the Dutch Sinterklaas which borrowed the sentiment from Saint Nicholas who was Greek and thus, definitely did NOT have your average "white" face. He was merged with the English Father Christmas some time down the road.

You might also realize that Saint Nicholas is honored on Dec. 6 and that he has absolutely NOTHING to do with Christmas except for the 1823 corruption that magically made him into a gift bringer on Christmas.

Absolutely everything about Santa Claus is made up. It's fiction, as is his character.

When it comes down to it, you might as well be discussing what race Mickey Mouse is. This discussion is about as dumb as it gets. It has nothing to do with political correctness. Santa Claus has whatever race you want him to have. He is not real.
I'm sure that will be forthcoming, next

jmo maybe we should start celebrating the "lightgiver"...

The name "Lucifer" means "Light Giver" or "Light Bearer". ... Satan was a fallen angel.

Almost choked on reading this. But you sure as hell got a damn good point there. I know plenty of sane people who would also agree with you.
