That "someone" being the defense attorney. It's one thing when a rich person walks because he can afford the better lawyer. It's another when the fact that the person is rich is used to absolve him of blame.

Default buddies

when I first heard the story I thought it was a hoax. My guess is that the judge was paid off or the judge is a good friend of the kids family.

Very sad story for the victims. The kid should be in jail and perhaps his Affluenza will be cured. And they should throw his a$$hat parents in with him for raising him to be an entitled excuse for a human being lacking in empathy and responsibility.

Here is another incident I read about him:

He said Couch got whatever he wanted. As an example, Miller said Couchís parents gave no punishment after police ticketed the then-15-year-old when he was found in a parked pickup with a passed out, undressed, 14-year-old girl.

Yeah, I bet we hear about him again in the future.

Where are deterrents today? Think of other deeds that go unpunished because deterrents were removed.

Only in America and more specifically Texas could this argument be seriously considered a defense , what do you think?

Ridiculous. The rich, the well connected, and those in power should all be subject to the same laws and punishment.
