THIS is what's wrong with our political system.

Port Authority Perks | The New York Observer
Christie's salary was $175K, last I checked.

The Port Authority has been out of control, since forever.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is financially self-sustaining. It's operations are funded by fees, tolls, and rents collected by the properties it owns such as bridges, tunnels, airports, and World Trade Center.

Obama used the IRS to delay tax exempt status from 100 conservative organizations to disrupt their contributions before the election.

Obama declared Al Qaeda was on the run and then covered up an attack on our embassy with lies about a protest that didn't exist.

Obama fast tracked 500 million taxpayer dollars to his campaign contributor Solyndra after he was told the company was about to fail.

Obama appointed two people using recess appointments when there wasn't any recess.

Obama supported and kept in office his Attorney General even after internal memos proved he did know about fast & furious and lied about it under oath.

Obama's National Security Advisor admitted on television that lied about domestic spying programs.

Obama's administration structured the bailout of GM so that the labor unions who contributed to his campaign kept their pensions while the shareholders and the non-union workers lost out.

But you want us to get excited over a couple lanes on a bridge being closed for a few hours.

Did you have trouble finding a hate Obama thread, this is about Christie.

This is the problem, any time they create a state authority they get filled with political hacks with no background. Christie removed the two appointees but he still has not accepted any blame or explained what transpired, this is how small things grow larger. This is an abuse of power by his friends, he should own up.

The two resignations have only fueled speculation that something really underhanded actually did occur.

In any event, subpoenas have been issued:

What's bizarre is that no one seems to be able to explain why it happened. If a believable reason was provided, it would be laid to rest. Christie goes on the deffensive and gets belligerent (as usual) when questioned about it.

Is it common Christie practice to punish political opponents by closing the busiest bridge in the world? There is all kinds of mystery surrounding this case and Christie is not saying much.

Chris Christie loyalist resigns from Port Authority over bridge lane closures - NY Daily News

This story keeps getting stranger. Is Christie OK with his 6-figure-salaried appointee closing a bridge to make a political opponent pay? And working class New Jerseyans have to pay the price? Time for Christie to open his mouth and tell the truth about this.
Another vindictive a**hole who has delusions of grandeur (ala Mitt Romney)

Republicans, gotta love 'em!

Agreed.
No logical explanation offered, these two guys resign and the governor digs in deeper.

(In my best Ellen Greene voice) Bi-zarre!

This is just one of those Phony Scandals everyone talks about. It is nothing more then hogwash national Democrats are going to use to try and take down a popular potential Republican Presidential Candidate.
