lolololol, i dont care who you are thats funny right there!

i will concur with people who complain about the desert like weather in most of california. if youre white and had to work under that sun your whole life like me, the constanst sun gets to be opressive. and no yups im not talking about frisco or any other coastal town or valley, im talking about the tri-valley, san joauquin valley, the coyote valley etc.. where normal people like me live.

I ran into some "Californicationers" while in New Mexico who complained that things were to pricy in CA. Then they started to complain everyone had a gun in NM. They reeled out one complaint after another.

I stated I knew a place where things were cheap, no one had guns and the government took care of everything. They breathlessly asked where.

I said North Korea.

The people around me howled with laughter. They were not amused.

It's been documented, there are tons of links, and your wing nut blogs have lied to you. There is reality and then there is the false narrative you're pushing. The reality is 80% of the people who are leaving are both poor and uneducated; they just don't make enough to compete against the better off people who have bid up the price of housing.

There is no shame in moving to a less desirable area if you can't afford a highly indemand/highly desirable area but be man enough to admit that is the reason you're leaving, you got priced out, you're not successful enough, and stop making up lies to cover for your own personal failings. When 80% of the people leaving are poor then it simply is not middle class people leaving and that's a fact even if you don't like it. If you feel like removing your head from your backside and would like to get some actual facts instead of opinions about what the profile of the people leaving are then just head on over to the California forum because the US Census data breaks it all down.
You can stop profiling those who leave California because of its governance - something the Californians won't admit and census data won't show. Second only to its nanny government is prevailing attitudes of superiority and fantasy as exemplified by the post I'm responding to. The name-calling/pejorative labeling doesn't help either. But I guess it can't be helped when the talking head is in rectal defilade.

Of course the resident liberal, OKC welcoming committee will disagree, but this article is based more in facts and truths about the typical Californian.

Californicating our nation
That article could be rewritten and have every reference to California changed to NYC or Vermont or any other largely "liberal" area.

I don't self identify as a liberal, far from it actually, and I found most of that article to be a fairly gross generalization.........

Born and bred Californian here.

Austin is going through that now.
Poor and middle class being driven out of the city by high home prices, high taxes and expensive regulations.
And while they talk of wanting affordable housing they are quite content to see the gentrification of the bad neighborhoods spread and increase home values even more.

I have all but stopped doing business in California because the business climate basically sucks. Oklahoma has its problems as does every state in the union, but I would take Oklahoma any day of the week over California. Maybe it's not as "trendy" but it sure is a lot better atmosphere.

There certainly are no liberal college towns, like in Kansas.

Conservatives need not fear Californication as not very many Californians want to move to Oklahoma, preferring other nearby states, such as Texas and Colorado. It's really been all about the Republication of Oklahoma. Democrats have lost favor by being perceived as wanting more government welfare, and not doing or saying enough to be against abortion, gay rights and gun control.
That's not just perception; that's truth.

Sheesh. I'm relatively apolitical and absolutely refuse to vote fo either Republicas OR Democrats for any national office.

But it is very hypocritical, I think, when people call out one party or political ideology for one perceived offense but don't see or won't acknowledge that their own precious party is guilty of the same.

The neocon GOP, for example, is the most egregious form of nanny-statism imaginable.
I'm about there myself, Friend.
