I think eliminating housing standards would be a better idea. My nephew in the Philippines lives in what we would call a tool shed.

I always seem to think the better approach is to rescue the kids as the mothers are a lost cause.
Bring back mental institutions and orphanages.

Rehabilitation doesn't work the majority of the time.
The kids have a better chance away from their drug addict moms.
The mentally ill have a place to call home where their drugs can be administered to them.

you are talking about an expense... a monthly expense

There is a segment of this population that runs up huge bills, they get picked up and taken to the drunk tank to sober up, they visit ER and of course never pay, they go in and out of jail, etc.

There's a van that rolls around Portland looking for drunks to dry out, they respond to calls and also pick up a lot on their own. A cop and an EMT that's an expense right there.

Hey I need money can you print me some? I mean the solution to everyone being no longer poor is just to give them money right? Where do they find these people.
"This Guy" was a GOP presidential contender in 2012 and may run again in 2016.

Jon Huntsman presidential campaign, 2012 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That was one of my questions for a party that is having a lot of trouble finding a candidate to field. Would they rally behind him or kick him to the curb? As governor of Utah he has access to the real numbers on what homelessness costs, and he has a plan to reduce the cost by one-third. Most of the posts here have been negative. It seems that the republicans would rather run another dipstick and lose than to actually support a respectable candidate.

every time some storm comes look at all the mobilehomes that are destroyed

yes some do

my old supervisor was homelsss (BY CHOICE) for his last 3 years on the job....he would stay in the breakroom at the shop..take his showers there and all

why...so he didn't have too much overhead on his last three years before retiring (a federal double pension) to Puerto rico.

Houses are destroyed also. There weren't many mobile homes along the New Jersey coast.

Even Obama can see the folly of that.

He's proposed raising it to $10/hour over 3 years.
