If today, everyone who currently lives in America, but was born overseas (legal and illegal), went back to the country they were born in and did not return, what would happen?
These include: the immigrant scientists, engineers, computer geniuses, landscapers, restaurant workers, wonderful people, criminals and, legal and illegal residents. Everyone who was born overseas leaves tomorrow.
Would this eventually be good for America because we would all speak a common language and share a common culture, or bad for America because we would lose the skills and talents of the foreign born residents? Your thoughts.
My thoughts are this......legal is legal.
We would be a far better nation if tomorrow morning, every illegal resident in America were sent home to their native countries.

Great idea! Round up all the illegals and deport them. Wonder why nobody has ever thought of that before. Even better: Pass laws to prohibit illegal aliens from entering the country.
The truth is this: Illegal aliens are in the country because Americans with money and lobby power want them in this country. There are billions of dollars being made on illegal aliens--and that big money is dependent on their illegal status.
Nothing will be done to get rid of them, nothing will be done to make them legal residents. Billions of dollars are riding on the status quo.
So I'm just curious, what is stopping you from moving there?
Well, I would have to have a guarantee of employment in a field that is lacking qualified candidates for one thing, but more importantly, I am an American citizen, I love my country, and my friends and most of my family live here. That's why I said 'a little bit jealous'.
Property values would plummet for starters which could be a positive development depending on what your balance sheet currently looks like. I'd also go poof and perhaps get to find out whether or not an individual's existence is solely material.

Let's not ignore the "democrats for life" part of the equation.
I would lose my mom. That would make me sad and just a bit jealous because she would be moving to a wealthier, safer nation.
But at the same time, you can bet that wealthier, safer nation isn't as jam-packed with immigrants especially the illegal kind.
No one is going to deport your mom if she came here legally though, I think the point of this thread is that Americans like people in other countries could do just fine and a lot of people don't like the packed in like sardines feeling this country now feels like.

Well, it depends how many they are, but I guess US would look like Detroit: too many vacancies. I think strength in numbers is always a good think, as long as resources are available, and they are over there.
