1. the extra money you pay in taxes for your medical coverage
2. the lower percentage of people your government pays for food and housing for, without requiring them to perform any labor at all for the money, but giving them more and more money for the increase size of their brood, without requiring their fathers to perform any contribution.
......and
3. They don't have the massive defense spending we do.

Didn't miss anything of the sort there Darkatt; but one must be very careful in making that sweeping a generalization:
It would seem our lower income people pay less tax than you do by staying at a 15% rate until $41,544 while you folks jump to a 25% rate at the income of $34,501 Now considering that full health care has been purchased for that 15% tax rate in Canada and a whole bunch of you are forced to pay extra on top of your 25%; who is it again getting the better deal?
Did you notice that your higher income tax rate of 44% kicks in at an income level slightly BELOW Canada's, did you also take note that California with a like population to Canada has a combined tax rate of 43%.
While not desiring to gild the lilly; and also not pertinent to this discussion regarding heathcare it nevertheless bears mentioning the corporate tax rate disparity between countries :
Comparing taxes paid isn't as simple an exercise as one would think when one considers what you get for those taxes. I've seen absolutely astounding insurance rates for a family of four with any pre-existing conditions being factored in that comparing that cost added to your taxation would lead all of us in Canada to consider ourselves having won the lottery but you keep on with your indoctrinated offerings of Taxes-schmaxes.
Now you can also stop bragging about that freedom thingy as you can either purchase insurance like the rest of us "AL"L have or you can pay a tax penalty for going without.......Haar!
Brother you folks really need to step away from the koolade table and cast an unprejudiced and jaundiced eye on what it is you're arguing venomously to maintain at the cost of even the modicum of common sense.
As messed up and crazy of a **** hole America is in right now , there is no better country . I love my life here and my country , we just need some real changes to our politics and government. You can say what you want but America will always be on top of everyone else.
Depends on your prejudicial perspective there sunshine.
Yet, we were the first ones on moon, and still the worlds superpower. And, all these countries with such great healthcare. You have more "expats" in this country, from all these countries, then American expats combined around the world. Thousands if not millions of people come beating at borders to get into this country. With its poor healthcare and all. Wonder why that is?
I'll see your arrogance and raise you a crude/rude rejoinder: ~ Climate and cheap golfing along with your economy tanking and allowing those of us with cash to come in and buy your houses you were just kicked out of....... .maybe.
Oh; and one must not forget, we go home for our healthcare on a private plane with a doctor in attendance RATHER than access your exorbitant and error ridden healthcare.
This is no different than car insurance. You can pay a higher premium for a low deductible or a lower premium with a high deductible. The keeps people from filing frivolous claims that can should be paid out of pocket or not fixed at all. Without this model, people would be filing claims for every dent or scratch on their car.
With health insurance, this keeps people from clogging up waiting rooms for sniffles or sore arms.
Oh for crying out loud you liken the coverage for a dent fender to something as necessary as ANY level of healthcare? Really?
I suggest you need to visit those waiting rooms at your hospitals a bit more often to actually see this idiotic concept in practice. The truth is far different than this moronic outlook. Those of you who cannot afford insurance (millions) RESORT to those emergency rooms for the very issues you've mentioned because they have NO INSURANCE!

In what way? Health? Nope. Education? Nope. Standard of living? No again.
In what way are you on top of everyone else? Massive weaponry to kill folks with? Being the global bully? Vast consumption of resources? You have 5% of the global population, but gobble up 25% of the world's resources.
So yeah, in those respects, you're on top of everyone else.

To be fair, the US is also 25% of the world GDP economy. It is pretty impressive that 5% of the world's people are responsible for 1/4 of the world economy, don't you agree?

No, we do not gobble up 25% of the world's resources. If we did the world would have ran out of resources long ago.

If you want to dispute it, knock yourself out.
You use up 25% of available resources, not 25% of every resource since the beginning of time.
I really needed to spell that out for you?

You got it correct this time. Yes, and it is our mass consumption that is bringing much of the developing world out of poverty.
