I think her words still reflect on her mentality to even make such a remark about a child.
The station I was watching when I was unlucky enough to hear about this said that the "liberal" people get caught up in their cocoons and do not realize that their behavior is shocking to the normal people in the world. Normal wasn't the word they used but it basically meant that. Yes, I agree it is a certain mentality that I hear a lot from Obama supporters. Sometimes you have to wonder if they realize we have a right to think differently from them and is anything sacred to them?
Not only what she said, but the spirit in which it was said. They planned an entire segment around the color of a baby's skin.
Not focusing on the opportunity that was given to this child to grow up in a comfortable environment, nor did they even look into where this child came from or the fact that blacks grow up at a disadvantage and this baby was likely rescued from that disadvantage.
They zero'd in on something so shallow and worthless. It was simply about skin color. That's just messed up.

There is a lot more to it than just being grateful that a chlld will gow up in privilege. There is much to be considered when adopting a chlld of a different race, which in itself is a good topic for another thread, but MHP was referring to the GOP and not any ill will towards the child. Rescued from the disadvantage of the 47% that Romney dissed? I can see the irony here and I suppose others did too.

This child will grow up with privilege and love, if I know anything about the Romney family? I think neither of you understand that. Sad! Jealousy is a bad thing. It prevents you from seeing the good in others.
At least Ms. Perry has more respect for diverse families than the liberals on this forum.
