I love polls like this: 1,031 Americans polled, with a margin error of +/- 4%. Way to cast a wide net, Gallup.

But it gets better: Obama and Clinton won with 16 and 15% of the vote. SIXTEEN PERCENT?? That doesn't say much for either one of them, or anyone else that was part of this poll. I would have voted for Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl that was shot in the head by the Taliban. She likely has more courage and integrity than Hillary, Oprah, Angelina Jolie or Michelle Obama.

On the male side, I don't think I admired anyone on the list....lol.

It's like the pope barely edging out naked Miley Cyrus as Time's Person of the Year.

Perhaps name recognition and familiarity are factors that inflate Obama's, Hillary's, and the others' numbers relative to other people in the country.

But that’s not the news. Mr. Obama has topped the men’s list every year since 2008 – as
have American presidents most years since Gallup began polling “most admired man” in 1946.

Mrs. Clinton won “most admired woman” for the 12th straight year and 22nd time overall.

What’s news is that their numbers took a dive. Obama went from 30 percent last year to 16 percent this year. Clinton fell from 21 percent to 15 percent.

Yes, Gallup selects a broad group to survey. People who live in bubbles are always shocked to find out much of the country does
not think as they do--like in November 2012. Interesting that Jimmy Carter received the same amount of votes as Mitt Romney and Ted Cruz.

I only admire their ability to stay out of prison and accomplish so much with such thin or non-existent resumes.

And yet, they still beat out everyone from the other side of the aisle...

That's true, the falling numbers are the larger story here. Next year, I expect both Obama and Clinton to be at or near single-digits. Honestly though, what is so admirable about Hillary Clinton? Has there not been ONE female that is more admirable in the last 12 years? Or is polling indicative of the low-information type that has become the norm these days?

I guess I should be thankful that Kim Kardashian didn't win, but it seems like we should have more admirable women in this country than Hillary Clinton.

Which is of course why the other side of the aisle will refer to the poll as 'meaningless'.

Were they the only two on the polling choices?
