Yes, but conservatives do it too. Just on different issues.

This is why I'm conservative on some issues and liberal on a few as well.

It is the topic. One of the laws in question is about giving some room bicyclists, and you call it loss of liberty.

Hitting another vehicle negligently or maliciously is already against the law.

Besides, in the post to which Harrier responded, you cited the smoking ban, not the motorist/bicyclist law.

What liberties are you losing by obeying the bicycle law? The law was created because the bicyclists were being ran over by cars, so obviously it is about running over bicycles.
