In a free housing market, minimum wage workers would be able to afford housing, and we would be spared this unresolvable debate about a living wage. The labor market is working and the housing market is not working.

That is correct. My nephew in the Philippines lives in what we would call a tool shed.

The free market is garbage and hasn't been free for sometime otherwise we'd be having monopolies as some companies fail while others gobble them up.

Wouldn't be surprised it's truly amazing to see some of these flag waving patriots who scream the loudest how proud they are of their own country while telling it's own workers they are worthless. I suppose the only "americans" these patriots support are at the top of society, if america had a fuedal system these sycophants would be the lapdogs of the nobility rank.

Funny because all the carpenters where I work have actually been imported from china, guess anyone can be a caprenter, also funny is that all the electricians at my company are from this country, well some are from the dominican republic but yeah.

Ironically it is the American low-wage workers who are the tools.

You should be a real American and refuse to work with a company that imports labor. I believe you are doing the same as I do when I buy Chinese products....pursuing your own self-interest.

A two minute and twenty four second video that sums up the proper economic system, which includes liberal trade.

Pushing protectionism is about as patriotic as the Patriot Act.

Americans are not hurting because of the minimum wage so-called "controversy." Americans are hurting because of Obama's failed economic policies in total, and especially the completely misguided and failed attempt to take over health insurance, the Obamacare debacle.

This entire presidency has been a wake up call to Americans, and is a clear illustration of what living under statism is like. Central planners cannot do a better job than free market capitalism. Period.

There should be no "minimum wage" at all. Government setting wages is not a good thing. The higher the minimum wage goes, the more people will find they cannot find work. This is because their skills fall short of what the law forces an employer to pay them. Would you pay $15/hour to an employee who can barely tie his own shoes?

If a person is not worth $15/hr, they should not be paid $15/hr. The employer should decide who is qualified for a job, and at what wage. Period.
