Will the Repub self destruction continue or will calmer heads in the Party prevail... ? Hard to say, there's not a lot of evidence of calmer heads with spines.

Hell, why even have a debt ceiling? The dems ignore it anyway and just keep on spending.

Dems ignore? Errr, seems that has been pretty bipartisan over the years, but you are correct, there should not be a debt ceiling. There needs to be some constraint on spending, but once spent, the bills should be paid.

Yep, spend, spend and then spend some more. Spend until we can't borrow then raise taxes and we're off to the races again.
Let me ask you, have you tried what you advocate at home with your finances? If so, please enlighten the rest of us how it's done successfully. If not, why not? I'm sure there's millions of people out there who'd love to know how to live well beyond their means (income) without any negative consequences.

Money tree in your yard maybe? Or, do you just go rob others when you get low on $$$$?

If there's another shutdown, will Fox News try to spin it as a slimdown again?

Having a debt ceiling is redundant and stupid. You pass a budget that matches the revenue the government gets from taxes and fees. If you can't get them to match, you either raise taxes and fees, reduce spending or both. A debt ceiling states that you are unwilling to work toward a comprimes solution.

"the bills should be paid"

As has been proven over and over the fed takes in MORE then enough to pay our bills WITHOUT increasing the debt ceiling.

The dems will NOT quit spending on other things.

Have you read ANY of Sen. Tom Coburn's books showcasing wasteful spending?

Will the general media again refuse the report the significant role the Democrats had in causing the shutdown?

Make your case. If you believe the last shutdown was a complete shutdown and not a partial shutdown back it up or go home.

We know who is "spinning".
