Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record - Washington Times

“What I think the American people are really looking for in 2014 is just a little bit of stability,” Mr. Obama said.

Although the president often rails against income inequality in America, his policies have had little impact overall on poverty. A record 47 million Americans receive food stamps, about 13 million more than when he took office.

The poverty rate has stood at 15 percent for three consecutive years, the first time that has happened since the mid-1960s. The poverty rate in 1965 was 17.3 percent; it was 12.5 percent in 2007, before the Great Recession.

Stagnant, is the word. This president creates instability in our economy.

We see Food Stamp enrollments rise by 250,000-400,000 each and every month, and a 50 year high in poverty under this president, and yet... his priorities are anything and everything except trying to turn the economy around.

Yes, the president is the only person creating instability in our economy....if you ignore all of the instability in Congress and this desire by the conservatives for our country to race to the bottom as fast as possible.

The Republicans idea of helping people in poverty is to let them starve off and die so that there are no more poor people.

Huh? no one is forcing women to have abortions. Giving a woman the freedom to choose isn't the same thing as forcing women. Taking away that right to choose is technically forcing women to have a baby.

Just look at all the laws this president is instructing his administration to start waiving, ignoring, rewriting, delaying, and refuse to enforce, and using the IRS, EPA, NSA and other administrative agencies to punish his enemies and reward his friends, as just a few examples of Obama, not the Congress, inserting instability.

But then, it's expected of Obama sycophants to go off on a tangent about instability, and to ignore the thread topic.

Are you sure? It seems like it is with how they vote in Congress.

Just ignore the trolls, I do. I can't even see what they post unless someone responds to their trollish lunacy.

Republicans have always given more of their own money to the poor than Democrats.

Democrats have always given more of other peoples money to the poor than Republicans.
