Yes, I am so tired of corrupt politics and utility companies all over this country.
So, on the way home last evening, I heard on a local station, that we should get ready for a bill hike from the electric companies, all b/c of two days of cold weather?????? WHAT?

So, your telling me, b/c we had 2 days of cold weather, that is your lame excuse to hike up the power bills again? You people are truly sick....what about in the summer, when the heat is on and everyone is running their air conditioners?

Anything for the CEO's to make big bucks, at the cost of everyone else.

and while we're on the subject, found out, that COMCAST is trying to buy Disney? So, that tells you how they've been raping their customers all these years....

Just think about the power Comcast would have, they'd not only own Disney, but all of the franchises, like ABC

Just find that grey panel box in your utility room , garage or basement and open it. At the top, there should be a big handle , probably labeled MAIN. Move it from where it is to where it ain't. Bingo, no more electric bills.

What, you want socialism where power is given to the people without them having to pay for it?

No, heck no, but this has to stop, prices keep going up and up, there are no jobs, our raises do not nearly cover cost of living, it's enough!

I have had no problem finding a job when I need to. Same with the rest of my building, where it seems some one is moving about every week. Our incomes at my company keep up with paying utilities just fine. Frankly I have never heard anyone complain about utilities (save comcasts programming) because the little they charge is not an issue compared to many others.

If your job doesn't cover the cost of living expenses well enough, maybe you should work hard and find one that does. Make yourself more valuable to your boss to get a higher raise, or look for higher paying positions elsewhere. Take some personal responsibility for your income instead of expecting everyone else to give you hand outs.

If you drive up the cost to produce the electricity someone has to pay! It's all about fuel......

Without a link or citation, how do we know that they're not basically saying "Hey, it's been really friggin' cold, so y'all have probably been running your heaters at the same temperature as normal without adjusting them... ergo they've been running longer hours and thus pulling more electricity... thus you're gonna see a higher-than-normal bill. Maybe you should have used more blankets and less electricity."?

Because that sounds more realistic than "Hey, it's been really cold for two days, so your bills are permanently going to be hiked".

You have a president that said he would drive up the cost of the most economic form of power production. This was the one campaign promise he did keep. Get used to it.

Power rates are one reason I heat with wood. Unfortunately the EPA has turned their attention to wood stoves and are attempting to put manufactureres out of business as well, all in the name of driving out viable alternatives to overpriced, unreliable, "green" energy sources.
