Calling it a gateway drug does not mean that everyone that smokes it will use harder drugs. There are probably very few people using harder drugs that didn't start with marijuana.
So what if it does? People are responsible for their own actions.
What I find more disturbing is how these prohibitionary laws lead to more and more of them...soda, medication, smoking, fatty foods, etc. Soon we'll all be like veal in a cage on an FDA approved diet full of HFCS.
No ish.
We need REAL Americans to stick together and stop letting the party lines divide us. We need to go back to the reasons our country was founded in the 1st place.
We need another Revolution. Not a violent one, but a complete culture change when it comes to government reach.

They don't, but there is a different line that's crossed with marijuana. Granted, it's a line created by the illegality.
What about Colorado? Or places where its decriminalized. Also, the legality of it has no impact on whether its a "gateway" or not.
I know what your saying, but I believe we have to change the taboo tag we put on it. People are dying by the thousands from the real addictions out there.
Alcohol included. Over 100,000 per year total when you factor in road fatalities as well.

It's too soon to know.

You're right about the other addictions. Personally, I don't care if people smoke it. I do wonder (don't know) if when you legalize it the next drug, probably coke, becomes the frequently used "gateway" drug.
Who can say? I can say, "It doesn't." but that's just my two cents. That's like saying "Light cigarettes takes you to pipe tobacco." Hello, idiotic reasoning.
I'm living proof that the "gateway drug" theory is a crock of s***! I have never tried any other illegal substance, nor do I ever plan to. Nor have I ever messed with legal prescription drugs! Just more propaganda from the "Reefer Madness" crowd!
How many people do hard drugs but DON'T drink alcohol?
Alcohol proponents always love to demonize other drugs while not looking at the problems their own drug causes. Same with smokers.
B-B-B-But... alcohol is legal!
BTW I smoke cigarettes, and drink beer, and I support legalization of cannabis!
