Yes, it does I am not saying everyone who tries is will try something else, but vast majority of hard drug users started with pot. It is the doorway to world of drugs.
Correlation does not equal causation. Your argument is analogous to stating that everyone who has imbibed alcoholic drinks drank water at some point in their life, therefore drinking water is a gateway to alcohol use.
The argument that pot is a gateway drug has been debunked as BS long ago. If you buy that you have been watching US propaganda BS like reefer madness. I have used it for years, know many who have and no one runs out and shoots up or buys meth. LMAO. I used to work service and had to move peoples furniture to get to parts of the structure in homes to repair. I can not even begin to count how many DRs and Lawyers ect that had bags of pot in and around the home. The same idiots who say pot will lead to drug addiction will go home and sip on a single malt and get their buzz and not see how hypocritical they are.

What about alcohol, and cigarettes? I guess we better ban those too.
And coffee too. Caffeine is a stimulant drug. How many people started with that before graduating to cigarettes, alcohol, and the forever evil marijuana. All can be considered "gateway drugs" so lets ban them all.
Again, people just discount the legal drugs, so their starting point is going to be traced to the first illegal one on the list.
