do you realize that everything in that 'study' relies on admitted pedophiles being truthful? should we actually rely on the truthfulness of admitted pedophiles?

So in Afghanistan, our soldiers should be able to have sex with 10 year old girls, since over there, there is no law against it, and with consent, girls as young as 6 can marry?
And when they bring their 12 year old pregnant wife home, we will say, "oh, it's OK, he had parental consent!"
I am also of the firm conviction that homosexuals should not be school teachers, work in day care centers, and absolutely not be allowed to adopt.

I'm of the same conviction that religious people should not be able to teach, adopt or hold positions of power, given the correlation:

Oh... and maybe even people who have been in the military shouldn't work with children, since 24% of sex offenders against children have military background of some sort, which is outsized in comparison to % of general population with military background.
Or just keep MEN from ever being around children at all. Completely segregated society. Since 97% of sex offenders against children are men, and therefore men cannot be trusted.
Another poster brought up a good point of why should anyone take the words of a pedophile as it was gospel. Maybe some of those pedophiles choose to remain in the closet and did not want to be known to be gay. HMMM, that still happens where people choose to have their gay preferences kept a secret. Or could they have straight out lied to protect the gay image and skew the numbers where more heterosexuals would be blamed for being pedophiles? And we have not seen the numbers of those who are bi, what percentage do they make up?

Perhaps you are unaware that there are a range of tests that can be done to determine a person's sexual orientation / sexual interest? They don't just have to take someone's word for it.

There are objective ways to measure someone's true sexuality. It's called phallometric testing. Essentially, a penis-meter that measures arousal at the sight of certain images.
Here's the key to this entire discussion:
Gay men like MEN. Typically, having large endowment and being masculine is sought after in the gay community.
Straight men like WOMEN. Curves, breasts --- again, usually the bigger the better --- fully developed secondary sex characteristics are what gay men and straight men are after.
Not little undeveloped boys and girls. If you're going after pre-teens, you don't HAVE an adult orientation.

What difference would it make, really? Bisexuals can claim identity in either the straight or gay community. Kind of like biracial people. It also doesn't change the fact that bisexuals are also attracted to ADULT sex characteristics.
One would think that when to comes to protecting children, people would want to know the facts - instead of risking the safety of children because of their own ignorance and prejudice.
Clearly that is not the case for some posters on this thread.
