misquoted how...she is the one who wrote and published the opinion piece ...did she misquote herself???
In the December 2009 issue of Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Diane Harper published an opinion piece regarding the potential risks of both Gardasil and Cervarix, and concluded that, given the various limitations and risks of the vaccines, the benefits and risks of HPV vaccination must be weighed with the benefits and risks of HPV screening (Pap smears) to reduce cervical cancer in a cost-effective manner. This paper was challenged by many scientists , who wrote, among other things, that it "contains inaccuracies and assumptions not supported by the currently available data" and that its methodology was flawed because "Efficacy estimates alone cannot be compared across studies and populations in order to infer differences in vaccine impact."

I don't see anything "Quackish" about what she says in the above quote. She sounds cautious and reasonable.
Great. That is your choice but fortunately for you, it was not one that your really had to make a decision on since your child was too old. I will talk with my children about safe sex, STD's, abstinence and condoms. I'll encourage open lines of communication and the importance of regular pap smears. There have been some very serious adverse effects from this particular vaccine and my choice is to not get it for my children.

It's always the ones who are least informed who are railing against vaccines. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and having access to anti-vax conspiracy sites is more dangerous still.

2. Why would the schools need to mandate a vaccine for an STD? Last time I checked, kids are not supposed to be having sex at school. And no, I would not get my kids the vaccine even if the schools took it to the crazy level of making it mandatory.
Harper says she didn't make the anti-Gardasil statements being attributed to her, the anti-vaxers latch on to the falsified statements and reprint them ad infinitim. Wakefield admits to falsifying data on the original anti-MMR study, retracts the study, and loses his medical licence, the anti-vaxers pretend that never happened. Weird and sad.

Yes there has. I find it funny that not one person on here tried to debunk my post earlier on this thread on how Gardasil destroyed a young girls life. The reason is they can't.
