The Washington Way: Top officials rarely fired in times of scandal | Fox News

this article is so true, as I've seen this going on for years, and it isn't just happening in Washington...over the years, even corporate managers are asked to leave, but they are not fired and are given a sizable pay check to leave? Why? Why are people today rewarded for bad work ethics, or not doing their job to the expectations of the company? In this case, to the People's expectations, after all, we pay them don't we?

Clinton was not fired, and should have been, Hillary, should not be running at all....Reagan, after he was to blame for selling American weapons to who? But who was blammed, I mean, if you really dig, a whole lot of politicians do the same, the laws do not apply to them any longer, why?

Its a fact that Liberals refuse to admit. Government and public employees are treated differently than private sector employees. Rarely ever do you see them fired. Rarely ever are they held accountable.

The question is, why are liberals okay with that? If you jerks are such proponents for the public/government sector, shouldnt you at least be huge advocates for accountability?!

Clearly you are not. Often you defend unions, public/government employees. Why?

Hmm. Not quite true. It can be time-consuming, but Federal workers are certainly fired. We have fired two in our small office in the past five years.

However, there must be 'cause', not just the whim of management, or change of Administration.

you got it, right on, and this has nothing to do with republicans or democrates, what it has to do with is, incompetence or doing what your not supposed to be doing!

I remember years ago, during an election, someone stated, we are voting in bad people, and character means nothing any longer, and it surely came to fruition....

the sad thing is, young people do not know any different, they don't remember the days when the law was the law, no matter who you were, and the fact that character in leadership means everything!

This country has grown so corrupt, people are now beyond the law.

However,

no one here is talking about just a whim

do you want to know how corrupt this world is....
years ago, and I'm going back maybe 25 years...I worked for an accounting firm, and we got the United Way account....there were two of us in that office, who didn't contribute to United Way, and boy oh boy did that cause a big stink, so much so, that the United Way pulled their account from that firm if we were not fired....we were not fired, we did not contribute, and dug our feet in, so the United Way pulled their account.

And that was a very small town, little thing compared to what goes on today....

because, without job security, working for the government would be extremely undesirable. compared to the private sector it is difficult to make money as a civil servant.

it is true that gov't workers are rarely fired for incompetence

but, depending on what level you're talking about, gov't workers can be fired easily for anything that has the appearance of impropriety. you are subject to petty politics and dumbass elected officials in a way that often doesn't apply to the private sector.
