I worked for minimum wage in HS at a local lumberyard for about a year.(1982) I was an excellent worker and made $4.75/hour($9.50 today) by the end of the year. Part time during the school year and full time during the summer. Previous to that I worked part time in the family business for two years without pay.

Im just wondering how long other people were at minimum wage and when. When reading some of these topics you would think half the people spend their lives at minimum wage.
At 16, I worked at a minimum wage job for about 3 months. After that, things got progressively better, and by 18, I was making about 3 times that.
