I worked for minimum wage in HS at a local lumberyard for about a year.(1982) I was an excellent worker and made $4.75/hour($9.50 today) by the end of the year. Part time during the school year and full time during the summer. Previous to that I worked part time in the family business for two years without pay.

Keep up that forehead smacking - you might eventually knock some sense into yourself.

Most wealth is lost within 2 generations. Clearly someone is moving up to obtain wealth to replace them, correct?

I've never worked for minimum wage. I thank the quality public school district I attended, which was a step up above the pseudo babysitting/daycare centers that many districts have become.

The only time I ever worked for minimum wage I was a student worker at the university. As this technically made me a state employee, I didn't have to pay social security or payroll taxes, so I actually had more take-home pay than most students working similar jobs for a higher wage off campus.

At 16, I worked at a minimum wage job for about 3 months. After that, things got progressively better, and by 18, I was making about 3 times that.
