Why do people believe that it takes the idiots approval to build the Keystone XL?

The states are building it right now. The southern section is about complete. The other states have already approved where the route for the northern section is to go.

The only thing the idiot and his minions can stop is crossing an international border. But due to NAFTA, trucks can bring it across the border and dump into the US northern terminus from the Canadian southern terminus.

But all the environazis believe their hero squatting in the WH can stop it.

Because of states right, he can't.

Well to be fair I just think the poster was a little confused. That's 1.2million per shovel ready job spent by Obama.

By all means, let's get on with it. The Chinese need their oil, midwesterners really do want to pay more for gas, and, of course the states where it passes through will benefit economically from the cleanup costs of inevitable leaks and ruptures.

Thank you for informing us about the eminent domain problems, as a conservative that does not fly with me. FYI, there was a Forbes article many years back that stated that, as a condition of financing underwriting, Goldman Sachs demanded a guarantee that no Keystone pipeline oil would ever be utilized in the domestic market, so it is true that, other than construction and maintenance jobs, the popeline will offer NO strategic benefit to the US.

That is the plan, the most we would be involved with would be refining it and putting it on boats to ship it to other countries. There is already a pipeline from Canada to the US that pumps oil to refineries that is sold in the US. Basically people fighting for the Keystone pipeline thinking that it will be oil going to the US is horribly misinformed.

When he's roaming around the country giving speeches on jobs and putting people back to work, he needs to get pressured to respond about his lack of action. Canada is ticked off at him for taking his sweet time on it and threatens to sell it's oil to Asia. Why aren't the unions on his case?
Maybe he agrees that it is a bad idea.

Add to that that basically people fighting against Keystone also thinking that it will ALL be sold to China are horribly misinformed. Pot... meet kettle...

While "keystone XL" (the main line) may not get built... there will be a pipeline constructed. Under a different name, a different gas company, a different route... I can almost guarantee. Most assuredly not today or tomorrow... but within five years...yep.... and the common everyday non oil/gas person will be just as clueless about pipelines as they are today...

So we want to build an oil pipe line so crude or finished product can be exported to China and everyone in mid-America pays another dollar a gallon for gas. I call that Tea Party progress instead of $3 a gallon the Tea Party gives us $4 a gallon. I guess they figure that will pay for their Medicare.

One or the other WILL happen, until the need for petroleum is eliminated. THAT will not happen anytime soon! It quite simply is used for too many things in the world today, things that YOU use everyday, even if you do not own a vehicle of any kind!
Lets ask those in West Virginia what it is like to have their water poisoned.

Squatting? You don't have much respect for the American electoral process, do you?
