It will happen slowly so that many don't even notice what is going on around them.
…like a thief in the night

It is happening and slow so people will buy into it, vote for it. Then when the full effect of it is felt people will cry. People don't realize what they ask for.

INEQUITY
OF
SOCIALISM
...
Socialism always sounds alluring - get government money - for free !
Of course, that's not quite true.
Inevitably, you either pay in more than you get, or you get more than you pay in.
Either way, it's inequitable and / or immoral.
And "the management" takes their cut.

Maybe people would take you neo-Confederates a tiny bit more seriously if you knew the definitions of the words you use so often
I still laugh almost every time I read a comment by you. Your name is "theunbrainwashed" which is farthest from the truth.

The Confederacy isn't coming back to the U.S. either, so if you want to see a scaremonger who isn't taken seriously you'd do better to look in the mirror rather than chastising imaginary hordes of neo-Confederates for doing the same thing you are - abusing labels and history and throwing it at your enemies hoping that they will be tarred by it.

Yes it is. It is redistribution of wealth.

A form of socialism and to deny it is being dishonest, something LSD's excel at.

What the ****?

Ok....

Apparently our "millions" of pages of regulations is not destroying our economy, with an unemployment rate of 25%. But, this is getting off topic, because regulations does not equate to socialism at all.

So, what does this have to do with socialism, and how has Obama taken away the ability for an individual to make their own decisions that a Republican governor hasn't when it comes to abortion or gay rights? Again, you don't open up this can of worms

There IS NOTHING going on. It's only in your own little paranoid mind that there's some huge conspiracy going on that Obama is secretly hanging out with Karl Marx's corpse in the West Wing when no one's looking
Obviously you don't work in the private sector. If you actually had to deal with the government and its mountain of regulations, you would never make such a ridiculous statement.

OF COURSE regulations are destroying the economy. Ask any small business owner.

To the poster above me, von Hayek was one of the founders of modern Libertarianism. Hardly an objective person to know anything about the left side of the political aisle

Think Obamacare
The insurance companies will be shocked to learn that they're owned and controlled by the government.

Hell, the government just handed over millions of new private customers to these bastions of capitalism.

Post fail.
