, just as we would never dream of having the government set home sale prices , car sale prices, etc, as ownership has the right to set values for itself, and the positions ownership chooses to fill.

Pleas re-read my post, like said, as long as they stay within the law.

Beating the wife or children = in violation of the law.

Do you also want me to produce a leprechaun, or a unicorn, or any other thing that doesn't exist?

There is no single figure that represents the answer you're looking for. Different employees, even those doing the same job for the same business, will be making different amounts. In every single one of those cases, what that person is earning is the market wage for their skills, knowledge and labor, in the position they're employed to fill.

What's so difficult to understand about that?

Note that I didn't even get into the geographical variables with the question you're asking...

But it's not a livable wage!

I change jobs many times. Each time was $10K - $20K increase. Why can't they change jobs?
So why can't they change jobs?

The market rate is the rate you agree to work for.

A cashier is a cashier at any company, all I want to know is how do you know a cashier is currently being paid over market value if you don't know what the market value is...

So there is no proof that the current minimum wage is over the market value.
