Thats because they have no real answer.. All they think needs to be done is take that $5 billion dollar a year salary every single mom and pop business owner makes and just give it to the employees. These people fail to grasp a dam thing real in life.
If they had real answers, they wouldn't support this minimum wage political farce. They would understand they would be screwing themselves if they support it.
I believe the answer was, "Cut upper management's pay in order to afford a wage increase for the lowest paid workers." Do I think it's a good solution? Eh ... maybe. Corporate American has fallen in love with the concept that paying their highest level VP's, excecs and CEO's makes good business sense.
Truth of the matter is, the work done by the CEO of McDonald's or any other mega-company really ain't worth tens of millions of dollars. Same story as the kid flippin hamburgers not being worth $10 per hour -- overpaid execs aren't worth what they're being paid. It's just a fad that's gotten insanely out of hand. But if you lower all executive pay by 50%, I still don't think you can afford to pay $15 per hour minimum. I think you have too many workers and it wouldn't move the needle nearly as far as people assume that it would.
This is just plain wrong in every level!
1. When is it ok to take money from others just because you don't think they deserve or need?
2. Who are you to say how much the executives of non-government private entities need to be paid? You want to limit their pay, become a stockholder or join their board.
Truth of the matter is, the work done the minimum wage workers aren't worth the wage they are paid now. of millions of dollars. The market has long decided that, and the market also decided that the CEOs are worth the millions! If you cut their pay, they will gladly work for other foreign corporations to compete with American companies!
Okay and nobody answered me still. Are you guys not able to answer such simple questions? I am not talking about McDonald's or asking what states are paying what. This is the problem with you guys, you can't answer anything directly.

Actually he is questioning the pay of CEOs just like you are questioning the pay of minimum wage workers.
Good to see you are admitting you think people making the least should be paid less. Now we know the truth for wanting to get rid of the minimum wage so that you can turn the US into a "third world" like the one you ran from. The exorbitant salary of a CEO comes out of the profit margin, does it not? The same profit margin that the wage of employees comes out of?
This is so true and there is no reason that a CEO should make 300 times what their lowest paid worker gets. Between this and the "golden parachutes" it's just a slap in the face to the average worker bee.
Please save the "If the market pay's this it must be okay" rhetoric , we all know it's BS but there is nothing anyone can do about it.
