We're supposed to have intelligence - perhaps it's an oxymoron. "Bad intelligence" isn't intelligence. They can't just assume that Benghazi was also because of a video. But they grabbed it as a lifeline, for political expediency. THEN, to make it more authentic sounding, the administration put out an "apology" for Arabic public consumption.
I think that the administration knew, Morell knew and told them, but they were all scrambling to save their hides and this was a convenient red herring of sorts -- a very convenient diversion that served as a life vest to the administration. The fact that their spokesman, Rice, Obama, and even Hillary ("What difference does it make?") still hung on to the video story long after, is proof that they did "protest too much", and were giving us the old line for very obvious reasons.
We have the email exchanges so we know what the CIA was telling others in the Administration. The CIA didn't change their assessment until Sept 24th (If I recall correctly). Even without the changed assessment about Benghazi there were other events sparked by the video. The Obama and Clinton "apology" wasn't the result of Benghazi, but about events surrounding the video elsewhere in the world.
I understand that some people want everyone to wear blinders and assume there were no other events other than Benghazi after the attack in Benghazi, but that is not a realistic view of the world.
All the apologists on the left ignore that there are still unanswered questions about Benghazi. Videos elsewhere have no bearing on what happened to our people in Benghazi. Don't keep muddying the waters by saying they do. It doesn't help your cause, btw.
Morell testified that he personally removed the reference to Islamic terroristsm from the final talking points because, he said, they did not want to offend them further.
Clinton and Obama put out a statement in Arabic to the press and their broadcasts that apologized to them for the video!

The water is also muddied by people writing about an apology that had nothing to do with Benghazi.

Where any of those agents CIA analysts in the United Statements who were asked to put together an initial assessment? The assertion that it was a spontaneous attack came from the CIA analysts in their initial assessment prior to Sunday morning.
