Why do people willingly want to give up their rights?

Must be nice to go to school and shop in the UK and Europe where you don't have to worry about flying bullets. Soon there will be limited entrances to public places and metal detectors will be everywhere. The second amendment will eventually kill our freedoms as well as our citizens.
WOW...glad to see fake outrage is still going on....

How many people died this week because of guns? Go ahead....do some research...then get back with us....

Do you 2 really think these were the only people killed this week by guns...

Then there is Chicago, IL, Oakland, CA, Stockton CA, or ANY shooting in cali for that matter, any shooting in NY, DC, all have incredibly strict gun control. We need mental health reform and to lower the recidivism rate of violent criminals NOT more gun control. The quicker we learn that, and that gun free zones are soft targets ripe for sociopathic destruction, the sooner our society will be be safer.

What is the disease, and where does shooting rank among killing people in the United States, on daily basis?

So, how many people are killed a day by other means (not by guns)...and not natural causes?

They could care less about the people that ate stabbed and/or beat to death, nor do they care about the millions who use a firearm and other weapons to defend themselves...

Must also be nice to have the right to be a chalk outline on the ground after you get stabbed to death and desperately tried to dial 911 on your phone so that the police could investigate your dead body just a few minutes sooner.

Must also be nice to be the helpless victim of a hate crime if you live in a neighborhood that doesn't accept your lifestyle.

Must also be nice to give up your right to self preservation to a government that can help you help yourself because your incapable.

Must also be nice to be a liberal in the 1st world, where your right to be a liberal and say whatever stupid stuff you want is protected and defended by guns every day.
It must also be far nicer to actually live in a 1st world place where none of those things happen with the frequency they do in the U.S. without having to carry around a 40 ounce piece of junk to defend myself from my neighbour and fellow citizen. Now that would be far, far nicer, wouldn't you agree?

Are we done with the strawman nonsense now?

The facts are that these things do happen in the U.S. and in the rest of the world. The facts are that these things have been happening for centuries even before the invention of firearms. The facts and reality is that crime, murder, and rape is something that has and always will exist within the human race, and no amount of regulation will even change that.

The facts are only over 100 million people actually own firearms, and even more have the option to own them, yet only 8 thousand use them to kill.... You guy's arguments and fear mongering is baseless...

about 30k people "die' per year from the use of a gun. Minus the 19k of that number that is suicide and your left with 11k. I'm almost 100% positive these numbers include people killed by police on duty and other legal use of deadly force.
Gun violence in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Those numbers are NOTHING compared to alcohol, which kills 75k in the US each year.
Alcohol linked to 75,000 U.S. deaths a year - Health - Addictions | NBC News

So when people say, "I don't care if more people die in a car or by a hammer because they offer other societal advantages" make sure you mention alcohol deaths. Alcohol serves no other purpose than recreational consumption. Guns are also used recreationally, but also to protect lives and is a constitutionally protected right. Tell the liberals to go bother the alcoholic teenagers if you want to "save the children".
