If you feel abortion should stay legal and it should be the choice of the woman then do you believe it should be legal and the parent's choice to repair the X chromosome that has been reported to cause homosexuality in men if that ever becomes an option?
If a genetic basis for homosexuality is established and further work is done to provide the technology for fixing the genetic code what say those who beleive GOD is a all powerful inerrant creator? GOD created mankind and made that very same genetic code. HE chose every bit of it and HE doesn't make mistakes or does HE. What will those of faith have to give up or question in our approaching brave new world , that GOD is the creator, that GOD is infallable or that GOD is turning over the future of mankind to mankind and no longer cares what we do one way or another. Also, will those who benefit or undergo genetic engineering no longer be his children and may over time cease to be in HIS image.
Can I throw out the possibility of aborting once discovering the pre-born baby has this 'gay gene?' Not bc I have an opinion on it, but just to sit back and enjoy the madness the thread turns into?

Yes abortion should always be legal and available. Yes, if science advances to the point where homosexuality could be repaired, it would be the individual's choice as to whether or to have homosexuality repaired or not. I would say the same for left handedness and ugliness too.

Yes.
[if she wants to manipulate eye color, then she should be able to do that, too]
It's the woman's body, and she has the right to choose in all the areas mentioned regardless of popular opinion as to what choice she should make. The same principle behind a woman's right to choose applies in both of the OP's cases, but it should be pointed out that this topic falls under the heading of "liberal eugenics", not "abortion".
As an aside, scientists can only guess as to what natural factors determine a person's sexual orientation, so as of 2014 parents couldn't change or determine the sexual orientation of their child even if they wanted to. It would be a breakthrough if scientists even discovered how sexual orientation is determined in nature, let alone perfecting a process to alter it artificially.
It's not a "woman's choice" because it takes TWO to produce the baby. The mother AND the father. And the state goes after the father's money and he has to pay up for 18 years of the child's life when the stupid mother claims she doesn't make enough to support it.

How would that be nonsensical? It's the mother's body isn't it? It's her dna to play with as she pleases if she could also just have the baby killed for any reason at all --- including having the baby killed because she thinks it has a gay gene. If she feels like "curing" the same baby instead of having it killed -- why not?
