We need to get back to a place where society looked down on those things which are harmful to society. But we are rotting with political correctness, and this everyone gets a trophyism. If it was taboo to get pregnant as a single girl before birth control was so common, it should be doubly stigmatized as irresponsible behavior when the pill is so easily obtainable.
Nope. Missing the boat again.

Europe has much lower teen pregnancy rates than the US. The governments there understand that teen pregnancy is not a good thing, but are wise enough to know teens will still do these things. So they make contraception and birth control available to all segments of society, not just people with money.

Should we really compare ourselves with China and India? I dont get the desire of conservatives to compare ourselves to third world countries. The Middle East also has effectively zero teen pregnancy rates in some areas. These areas also have Sharia Law and stone people to death.

Yet the solution many conservatives advocate is the Fundamentalist Christian "Sharia" law approach.

Education and improved access is the only true solution.

Teen pregnancies DO ALOT to increase poverty, ESPECIALLY by SINGLE moms with absent/deadbeat fathers.

Women stupid enough to get knocked up by LOSER men that already have other children they don't support or take care of are the stupidest of all.

Guaranteed poverty !

How these idiots expect an unemployed lazy deadbeat who can't/won't support himself or his other kids to support another illegitimate birth never ceases to amaze many.

I think it depends on if they teen has education or not. A person who is poor but educated is the least likely to have children. A person who is poor and uneducated is the person likely to have the most kids.

This explains why birthrates tend to crash in developed countries when the economy goes to ****.

This argument won't hold water in the U.S. Those other countries have an entirely different culture and outlook on life. People in those countries tend to believe everything is for the good of all, where in the U.S., we are fiercely independant and protective of what's ours. Just look at employment. Here, we fight for as many hours as we can get, mom and dad work 60 hr weeks, we sell back our vacation time and many only take one week off if any, and we have nanny's raise our children. In those other countries, they push for a 30 hr work week and six weeks of vacation a year. Family and extended family is valued, as is the good of the general public. It's a whole different ball game over there, and that attitude extends to all aspects of life, including social ills.

I don't know if poverty increases teen pregnancies, but teens who get pregnant are more likely to live on the dole.

"Aren't no such thing?" Perhaps your use of a double negative meant to imply there ARE such a thing. Don't get out much, do you? Maybe you should read a book.

Teen pregnancy (in the current nation) = bad choice
Poverty = bad choice

bad choice == bad choice.

Pretty easy logic. People who make bad choices don't typically limit said bad choices to one area of life. They like to be more comprehensive in their bad choice assortment.
