Oh, maybe because she put it in a speech on national TV in an attempt to imply she's an ordinary everywoman, rags to riches, bootstraps, yadda. I dunno. Help me out here.
Maybe she did. We'll never know because she didn't tell us that part.
C'mon, did you want her to show up with a biography to appease the Libs frothing at the mouth to discredit everything she said.?
Maybe you can invite her over to your house and learn all of these important facts. I know you must be losing sleep over it.
It was all there — easygoing populism, an emphasis on
jobs and her family, which includes a son with Down syndrome and a Navy veteran
husband. It was as if a Republican pollster had somehow created a politician
with the exact profile that Republicans are looking to promote as they head
toward this year’s midterm elections. Here was a pro-life, never offensive
Republican woman from a Western state who grew up picking apples on a farm; a
youthful, 44-year-old Republican who is known as one of the most savvy
social-media users in the House, uploading countless photos to Instagram and
videos to Vine.
She's a vehemently pro-life fundamental Baptist, against abortion even if it means death to the mother.
She's against the Arts and against preserving wildlife habitats.
....and people are supposed to like her because she can upload photos and videos?
I don't think so.
Didn't watch either the SOTU or the rebuttal, but it's odd to see the Washington Post of all papers praising the GOP rebuttal. Maybe the Post is getting as fed up with Obama's empty repetitive meaningless rhetoric as the rest of us.
Did you read the actual WaPo article?
Did you get why the author thought she did a good job?
As noted by the comments following, nothing about substance or plans or solutions, oh, no.
It was all about the brand.
Essentially what the author was saying is "look, here's another figurehead. Yay."
She's a vehemently pro-life fundamental Baptist, against abortion even if it means death to the mother.
From her speech:
Quote:
...and trusts people to make their own decisions, not a government that decides for you.
Quote:
Republicans believe health care choices should be yours, not the government's.
Quote:
...we believe in a government that trusts people...That is what we stand for -- for an America that is every bit as compassionate as it is exceptional.
I thought I was listening to a female version of Chris Christie.
- I was single when I was elected
- I married a Naval Officer
- I have a 6 year old with Down Syndrome
- I have a 2 month old
- I worked in my families Orchard
- I was in 4H
- I saved for college
- worked at McDonalds Drive thru
So, where is the Rebuttal again?
Good question. It was very Palin-like, wasn't it? Just a bunch of words circling thru the air like dust, never coming together into a cohesive coherent thought.

The Washington Post may lean a little left but they are a fair and balanced newsource. They have been publishing Charles Krauthammer and George Will op-eds for years for instance.
But this McMorris-Rodgers person came off as a simple-minded hick, happy and pleasant when talking about herself, then hostile and reptilian when poorly condemning the government (and Obama).
She was like a poor-man's Sarah Palin, so that's really poor. Physically repulsive too.
I can think of 4-5 posters here that I argue with that could have given better responses then what was given. 1-2 of them could probably write a home run response to the SOTU address. This should have had a team of people who know exactly how to do this, instead I get something my 14 yr old could have put together.
I expected better.
We should get better, but, "better" doesn't seem to the goal.
"Better" would alienate too much of the base that recoils at the sound of big words and literate sentences.
It's been quite the parade: Jindal, Rubio, now this poor cut-out.
Oh, well, she served her purpose. I guess they'll put her back in her place now like the rest.
