[quote=daylux;33355649][quote=weltschmerz;33355393]No, a rainbow is an optical phenomenon that is caused by a refraction of light from water droplets in the earth's atmosphere.

Too perfect: Rainbow appears over Scotland parliament hours before gay marriage is made legal | Gay Star News

The same thing happened in Hawaii while they were debating the issue.

Maybe you should tell jjrose this. She seems to think it's some sort of positive affirmation for gay marriage.

While you're at it, tell that to GayStarNews.

From Gay Star News article about rainbow: It could be a blessing from an otherworldly, religious being.
No, JJRose is making fun of the fact that the anti gay side constantly points out how much god hates homosexuality, yet their god put a rainbow up in two separate locations that were voting to allow SSM.

I, personally, believe none of that tripe.

The gay community seem to think a rainbow in the sky is an affirmative sign from God. Do you agree with them or not? Try to stay on topic.
The gay community uses the rainbow as a sign of diversity and inclusiveness, of hope and of yearning, just as it has been used throughout history. It is not just for God's affirmation, but for human affirmation that ALL people are created equal.

I'm glad same sex marriage upsets you so much!

I'm not going to claim it is one way or another, as I have no way of knowing (and I obviously know the science behind how rainbows work). I do find it ironically coincidental though. Since I am a theist, however, I wouldn't have a problem accepting that it's God's way of saying "Stop bashing gay people, they want love and families too".

But isn't Scotland part of England? Why only Scotland?

I'm sure you would at least agree, it's poetically/beautifully ironic though.

Same-sex marriage is legal in England and Wales already (was passed last summer and marriages will begin next month). Marriage is devolved in the United Kingdom, meaning the Parliament of the United Kingdom granted statutory authority to the individual legislatures in each country to decide marriage laws independently, as opposed to a ruling in London being legally binding on all of the United Kingdom.

The referendum for independence won't be held until September.
