Part of " GOOD" politics is the ability to reach a compromise. Maybe you don't get everything you wanted, maybe you have to give up more than you wanted but in the end you reach an agreement most if not all can live with.
In the last year this has not happened very often. If you pass a bill with the intent to force a veto, and then get the veto. Whose fault is that? Many items that all of congress knew that were important have been ignored. Immigration, health care, the war. Is it any wonder they have an approval rating of 11%? Both sides are quilty of putting their party first before the needs of the voters. Both should feel nothing but shame for their poor performance. ie they should not run for reelection.

Boy, that was a productive year.

Yeah, right... not one company has gone out of business in our area due to the higher minimum wage.

It must be great to live in an area that hasnt had companies leave other states or countries because of cheap labor.

it must be great to live in an area that hasnt had companies running with less employees then before the minimum wage increase.

It must be great to live in an area with no illegal aliens working, because they are getting paid lower then minimum wage.

Please tell me where you live, because I need to move there, since there is no unemployment in your area..

Please understand that because someone makes minimum wage, this is not a "living" wage.. it varies by region.. I'm all for supply/demand in the workforce. I have employees that make 3 times unemployment for some positions.. Simply because supply/demand dictate that they make, 3 time the unemployment rate.

You'd think that the Democratic congress would want to actually write some bills that were not able to be "VETO'd"... but then they wouldnt receive all the daily press they are receiving because of that big, bad, Bush, in the Whitehouse..
