The most painful speech ever

http://images.politico.com/global/20...s_4_ap_605.jpg

Dem bombs before a friendly crowd at The Washington Press Club.
Quote:
Washingtonians sit through terrible speeches all the time: dry rules hearings, partisan floor lectures and, let’s face it, even the State of the Union some years.

So it was a bad day for Rep. Donna Edwards Thursday, when Washingtonians gathered at coffee pots and in lunch rooms across town and deemed her performance at the Washington Press Club Foundation annual dinner Wednesday night the most painful speech we’ve endured in a long time.

Real shame there's no video of the speech that I can find.

What does the title of your thread have anything to do with the speech? It doesn't even make sense.

Donna is a nut case in any event. The Democratic Legislature tried to re-district her out of office and it didn't work. Which just made her nuttier and harder to deal with.

Yeah I'm sure she is, but that's hardly much of a distinction in THIS congress where nuttiness is seemingly par for the course.

That said, I'm not one of her constituents, so I can hardly see why she's any of my business. They like her enough to keep voting for her so they must like the job she's doing (or not...but that's irrelevant)...and I definitely don't care what the good people of Maryland think of my representative.

I believe many liberals have a good sense of humor. Check out the 'birther' threads, for instance.

Of course, this is not to say that conservatives don't have a sense of humor. Recall on Rush's first television show, when he referred to the Clinton's dog, and a picture of Chelsea popped up? How the audience laughed!*

*Rush, of course, claimed that it was a mistake. However, I was watching and he definitely had a huge grin just before the picture popped up, so he knew about it.
